Tony has over 16 years’ transacting experience as principal and advisor in M&A and equity capital markets.
Prior to co-founding Tessera in 2012 with Katie, Tony spent four years in the investment team at Marwyn Capital, an investment firm, having previously started his career within Leveraged Finance at Barclays Bank.
Tony also currently serves as a NED of Michelmersh Brick Holdings Plc, the AIM-listed specialist brick manufacturer, and was formally a NED of Summerway Capital Plc, the AIM-listed software focused acquisition company.
He has a 1st class honours BSc degree in Business Management from King’s College London.
Katie has over 14 years’ corporate finance and transaction experience.
She qualified as a Chartered Accountant with EY in 2002, has a degree in Commerce from the University of Melbourne and has passed the CFA level II exam.
Prior to co-founding Tessera in 2012, Katie was an Investment Manager at Marwyn Capital, where she led and managed a number of the fund’s investments, alongside the provision of corporate finance advice to listed portfolio companies.
Katie is also a NED of RazorSecure Limited, a VC backed cyber security business, CFO of AIM-listed Celadon Pharmaceuticals Plc, and was previously the CFO of AIM-listed Oxford BioDynamics Plc.
James joined Tessera in 2021 with private equity and corporate finance experience from prior roles at Marwyn Capital and Oceanrock Consulting.
James has led several investments into early-stage, high-growth businesses across technology and consumer products sectors. He has also worked closely with publicly-listed acquisition vehicles to identify and acquire companies, and execute buy-and-build growth strategies on the London Stock Exchange.
James holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Cape Town and has passed the CFA level II exam.
James joined Tessera in 2022 following over five years in private equity and corporate finance at Oceanrock Consulting. Prior to this he worked in the equities team at Prescient Investment Management, a quantitative asset management firm.
James’ primary focus has been on the FMCG and other consumer goods, media & entertainment, and agriculture sectors. This experience was across both buy and sell side in private equity and corporate finance.
James holds an honours degree majoring in Finance and Economics from the University of Cape Town and has passed the CFA level I exam.
James joined Tessera in 2018 having previously worked for the last 10 years within public equity and private capital environments.
James was formerly an Associate at Marwyn Capital, where he focused on supporting listed company buy and build strategies across a number of sectors including business and industrial services, technology and luxury goods, and prior to this was a private equity executive at Gaja Capital.
James holds a BSc in Economics and Politics from Bristol University and the Corporate Finance Certificate, and has passed the CFA level I exam.
